Steven has been in general practice since his admission in 1983, having obtained his degree qualification in law at Adelaide University, and his Graduate qualification from the then Institute of Technology (now University SA) in Legal Practice. He founded Steven M Clark Lawyers in 1985 and has been its principal ever since.

Steven and his family are proudly Gawler residents and have been since 1971. Steven is a married man blessed with seven children and a growing brood of beautiful grandchildren.

Not only has he been involved in local community pursuits on a voluntary basis since very early on in his practice (he was instrumental in the establishing of the Trinity College Foundation as well as the Gawler Health Service Foundation), but he is a current serving member on the Board of Central District Football Club as Director and Club Solicitor, and is a past Director of Trinity College Foundation, Gawler Hospital Foundation and the Gawler Business Development Board.

On 2 July 2016 at the Gawler Light Rotary handover dinner hosted at the Hewett Centre, the Rotary Club of Gawler Light awarded Steven with the prestigious Paul Harris fellowship, “In appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world”.

Steven is passionate about the interests of those less fortunate and has advocated for initiating a free legal assistance scheme in Gawler.
